T-Wolves Prevail Over Shoddy Defense/Pitching Effort

Jr. Varsity vs Roseville HS on 3/27/2010 1:00:00 PM
Posted Sunday, March 28, 2010 by Tobin Fuller
The opener of the Surewest Invitational for the T-wolves saw them facing and SFL foe in Roseville. Roseville opened the top of the 1st with two fly balls that were lost and fell uncontested. Both hitters ended up scoring and putting the Wolves into catch up mode which was a constant theme for this game. Pitchers as a whole had difficulty in finding the strike zone and were constantly pitching from behind.  With poor efforts on the mound and on defense, the offense was placed into a situation to plate as many base runners as were possible.

Tyler Milani dialed '1' in the bottom of the 6th to put the Wolves up by one. The lead was quickly erased by a game Roseville squad who scored two runs on three hits and a base on balls. The Wolves opened the bottom of the 7th with a Yardley double, an Astor single and a fly ball to right by Barron to put the tying run on third and the winning run on second base. Perry Beaber, with a one ball count took the next offering to deep right center and the T-wolves were racing out of the dugouts with a walk off victory.

The Timberwolves will play a double header at home Monday with game times set for 10 am and 1 pm.
