The rubber match of the Woodcreek – Roseville bout came down to one run once again and the T-Wolves emerged in victory shutting the power off on the Roseville baseball factory and grinding it to a halt. Woodcreek 5, Roseville 4.
Offenses ran cold with both teams under a handful of hits a piece and little things mattered once again.
Roseville got off to a fast start scoring a pair in the first and Woodcreek answered in the first as Perry Beaber walked, Austin Hagarty sacrificed him to second, and Stephen Nogosek slammed a double to score Beaber. A Fielder’s choice sent Nogosek to third and a wild pitch had him scampering home for their second run.
Roseville dropped two more on the Wolves in the third to go up 4-2. The Wolves went dormant for an inning but did damage in the fifth as John Peska drew a walk, Beaber followed with another walk, and Nogosek made good again driving Peska in with a single. Kyle Dixon followed with a two RBI single that brought in both Beaber and Hagarty to cap the scoring.
In the meantime Tyler Milani, performed with grit as he came on in the second, rendered Tiger bats impotent, and ate innings for the Wolves. In the seventh with two outs, Milani took matters into his own hands ending the game in style, with the final “K” of the night.
Play resumes Monday as the T-Wolves travel to Granite Bay Monday to take on another highly ranked SFL foe.
