In the first game of the Gina Montes Surewest Tournament, the Varsity T-Wolves rolled over Vista Del Lago by a score of 13-7.
Vista put up two runs in the first but Woodcreek answered with three in the same frame and never trailed. In the second, the T-Wolves took advantage of walks, errors, and solid hits to post five more runs. The fifth and sixth also saw three and two more runs respectively for the Woodcreek squad. Vista tallied three in the sixth effectively avoiding the mercy rule and added a pair in the seventh however the Woodcreek lead was insurmountable.
Kyle Dixon went 2x2 with a triple and four RBI’s in the contest while Perry Beaber went 2x4 and Kramer Sutey slammed a double in a nine hit attack. In the meantime, any serious threats from Vista Del Lago were routinely snuffed, the Wolves turning a pair of swift double plays.
The Timberwolves travel to Bella Vista High School Monday and return to Woodcreek Tuesday as tournament play continues through the week.
