Woodcreek faced off against Nevada Union in the first game of a three game series and lost a tough one  3-4.

The T-Wolves started slow but finished with 11 hits resulting in three runs.  Scoring all took place in the fifth frame as Brandon Raposa got things started with a single, Austin Hagarty followed with another single, Shaun Mize beat out a single in which an errant throw also contributed to runs scoring.  Kyle Dixon capped the inning with a hard hit single that could not be handled before the inning ended after three runs were tallied.

Nevada Union scored all their runs in the fourth frame and, while they mustered but 6 hits, four of them were bunched in that inning which proved the margin needed to win.  Stephen Nogosek shut Nevada Union down in the fifth and Brandon Cain tossed zero’s in relief through the sixth and seventh to keep the game within reach.  Woodcreek threatened in the seventh as Jay Standen lead off with a single followed by a sacrifice and another Kyle Dixon single as he beat out a ground ball to third but both runners were stranded to end the game.

Statistically the T-Wolves played clean ball and the better game overall however the scores don’t reflect the statistics. Woodcreek travels to Nevada Union Wednesday to exact a level of revenge and the series concludes Friday at home.
