Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity outlast Del Campo in high-scoring affair, 20-15

Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Wednesday as Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity outscored Del Campo 20-15 in seven innings.

Hitters on both sides were strong at the plate as the teams combined for 33 hits, including nine extra base hits.


CF racked up three RBIs on three hits for Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity. He doubled in the second inning, singled in the second inning, and homered in the sixth inning.


TM recorded the win for Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity hammered Del Campo pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for 15 hits, 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

The top of the first saw Del Campo take an early lead, 1-0. 

Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity went up for good in the first, scoring five runs on a two-run double by TM, a solo home run by NK, and a groundout by DB.

Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity tacked on another eight runs in the second. DD kicked things off with a double, scoring BS.

Six Del Campo runs crossed the plate in the top half of the fifth, making the score 14-7. A two-run double, an RBI single, an RBI single, and a two-run error fueled Del Campo's comeback. Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity stopped the rally after CL got the strike out.

Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity brought home one run in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the fifth, Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity scored on a groundout by HP, plating KD.

After pushing across six runs in the top of the sixth, Del Campo faced just a 15-13 deficit.

Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity added four more runs in the bottom of the sixth. The inning got off to a hot start when CF homered. That was followed up by DB's single, scoring DS.

Two runs in the top of the seventh helped Del Campo close its deficit to 20-15, but the game was called due to darkness with 2 outs in the top of the seventh.
