Rocklin was never able to get over the hump and get over its troubles against Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity on Tuesday, as Rocklin fell 4-2 after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.
Rocklin scored one run in the fourth on. Despite its efforts, Rocklin couldn't finish the comeback.
Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity's DD was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the third and fourth innings.
JC kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight Rocklin batters. JC allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over seven innings.
Mears took the loss for Rocklin. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
Rocklin jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first.
Woodcreek Timberwolves Varsity went up for good in the third, scoring four runs on a two-run double by DS.
